چکیده

Abstract Background This study analyzed the clinical features, imaging manifestations, histopathology, immunohistochemistry, and surgical approaches of orbital solitary fibrous tumor (OSFT), as well factors for postoperative recurrence such disease. Methods The data 16 patients with OSFT treated in our center from 2003 to 2020 were retrospectively, symptoms, treatment methods, follow-up results recorded. Results Of patients, 8 females (50.0 %) males %); average age was 37 ± 7 years median time 74 (8, 228) months. Sixteen underwent a total 29 operations, which 12 transorbital approach operations 17 transfronto-orbital operations. Ten (10/16, 62.5 had recurrence. rate 83.3 % (10/12), 17.6 (3/17). No treatment-related complications. Conclusions main pathological feature is benign tumor. has tendency grow toward cranio-orbital junction. relatively high, so complete resection very important prognosis. Inappropriate can lead incomplete removal cause Choosing correct operation according position orbit dura mater bone affected by crucial Nevertheless, regular long-term after necessary.

Transarterial Onyx Embolization of an Orbital Solitary Fibrous Tumor.

Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is an uncommon mesenchymal neoplasm sometimes found in the orbit. We report a case of an aggressive orbital SFT with enlarged feeding vessels that was successfully resected immediately after transarterial embolization with Onyx (ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer). To our knowledge, this is the first report showing the histopathology of Onyx embolization material in a...
